ABOUT US

Central to A Place at the Table is the partnership between Persia West and Janie Kavanagh, with an active network of external partners who contribute specialised skills in culture change, project management, and diversity training in disability and race matters.

PERSIA WEST

Persia has been involved with training and public speaking, with a focus on self-development within organisations for more than twenty five years, in the UK, Japan and the USA. She has a particular knowledge and experience of gender issues in the workplace, which includes lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. She has recently been a trustee of both The Gender Trust, the national charity which deals in transgender support and information, and of Spectrum, the Brighton & Hove LGBT Forum.

JANIE KAVANAGH

Janie has been involved with the initiation and production of arts projects in Canada and the UK, since the seventies, and has brought her skills with people and management - and her long interest and experience in women's and other gender matters - into training and event production for A Place at the Table.
